The Faith statement

The India Christian Mission Church is now an Anglican Orthodox traditional Church (means
Orthodox Anglicanism – as we do not accept the women ordinations, Gay priest hood, same
sex blessings). We believe in the Holy Bible (both old and new testaments) as authoritative,
infallible word of God, necessary for salvation. We follow 39 articles of religion and follow
ancient Book of Common Prayer as our liturgy and accepts historical creeds of Nicene and
Apostles. The ICM Church is existed with three fold Ministry i.e Deacon, Priest and the
Bishop. The present concentration of Church is Church plantation (specially in Rural and
Tribal evangelism), Rural Child Education, Medical Missions and Projects for Social change.

Legal status

The ICM Church was first started as India Christian Realm Mission in 1897. Then made as India Christian Mission and got registered as a Society bearing no. 09 of 1947. Then it was made as India Cherian Mission Church in the year 2000 by adopting the new constitution and obtained Apostolic succession through CEEC. Then the dioceses were erected and Bishops are consecrated.

The Affiliations / Communion

The ICM Church is the founding member of Andhra Pradesh Council of Churches ( APCC – formed in 1943 ), a State level apex body of Orthodox and Protestant Churches, which is a Regional Council of National Council of Churches in India which is a constituent body of World Council of Churches. The ICM Church is also a founding member of Andhra Pradesh Federation of Churches ( formed in 2004 ), a state level apex body of the Bishops / Heads of Churches of all Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant Churches. The ICM Church is a founding member of Communion of Evangelucal Episcopal Churches ( CEEC – 1995 ) – India. The ICM Church is one of the founding members of GAFCON – ABCI ( formed in 2022 ). The ICM Church is in full communion with Anglican Orthodox Church ( formed in 1964 ), a worldwide communion. The ICM Church has entered into communion through MoU with The Blessing Mission Church, Germany.

The Church has the following jurisdictions : The Primatial see – Diocese of Krishna Godavari and Episcopal Missionary Diocese of Eluru.
Diocese of West Bengal, Diocese of Northeast India, Diocese of Punjab, Diocese of Hyderabad, Diocese of US / Canada, Diocese of France, Arch Diocese of continental Europe, Province of Sri Lanka, Mission centers in Uttarakhand and Africa.
